New Hampshire Wedding with Detail

Happy Monday everyone!

We have a totally fabulous wedding to share today that was sent to us by Alexandra Daley-Clark. Sometimes weddings are fabulous because they are over the top gorgeous, sometimes they are fabulous because of the setting, the dress or the flowers. Well, this wedding, while it’s fabulous for all those reasons too – the setting, dress and flowers ARE all gorgeous, I love this wedding the most for it’s little details. This bride clearly has an eye for those little touches that make a wedding special. What’s even more fun is that their planner, Leslie of The Wedding Belle is here to share all the behind the scenes goodness!

Maggie and Matt were an absolutely wonderful couple to work with! Their most important detail or concern was definitely that their guests be completely taken care of and have an amazing time! Above everything else, that is what they wanted!!! A majority of the guests were travelling to attend the wedding. Maggie had a wonderful vision of the day and a fantastic sense of style! While we planned the wedding together, she was a very “hands-on” bride that wanted to be not only involved in all the decisions but she also did a lot of DIY projects. For an example, Maggie called me up looking for a unique idea for her “escort cards”. Since her ceremony was taking place outdoors with a long path leading up to the guest chairs, I thought it would be a great idea to make pin wheels that would be placed in the ground with each couples names and table number on them. They would create a fun, whimsical atmosphere and also be functional. I sent Maggie some “DIY” instructions and 2 weeks later they were done, complete with matching colors and theme.

The weather on the day of the wedding, turned out to be very rainy. However, Maggie and Matt were determined to make the most of their outdoor plans! Between the rain drops they travelled with their bridal party to downtown Portsmouth and New Castle, NH via a trolley to take all their photos prior to the start of the ceremony. While they were off having fun and photos, Ambrosia Gardens battled the elements and completely decorated their outdoor archway for the ceremony. And as if someone was looking down on them from above, the rain stopped just long enough for us to dry off all the ceremony chairs, place the aisle runner, get guests settled and hold their ceremony outdoors in the garden exactly the way they had envisioned!!

Moving into the reception, guests enjoyed cocktail hour along with jazz music from Matty B Entertainment. Each table had a custom-made runner with potted plants and herbs arranged in custom made garden boxes. White, cotton napkins with a custom printed design to match the runner were placed at each place setting along with a “photo card” that encouraged guests to share digital images of the day with each other. Printed menu’s on chalkboards along with simple, white votive candles finished off the décor.

They danced, and danced and danced the night away! Matty B kept everyone very entertained and the dance floor hopping! Maggie looked stunning with her vintage inspired hair piece and gorgeous custom blended make-up from start to finish! And the way that Maggie and Matt smiled at each throughout the evening…priceless!

What a beautiful wedding; it has that old fashion appearl with a modern twist. Her gown, the decor – it all comes together beautifully.
